What would you like to know? What tools we use? What development processes? What instructional design models?
The answer is - it depends! We’re a custom house, right? That means we don’t ask you to conform to our standards of convenience. Instead, we offer alternatives, and select the ones that make the most sense for your particular situation.
Developmental Tools
Let’s take development tools, for example. For constructing courses, we use primarily our proprietary tool i-Canvas, Macromedia Flash, or Dreamweaver. We consult with you to determine which is best for the type of course you need, within your own particular operating environment.
Development Process
And the same is true for our development process. We have several models that are tuned to different requirements. For example, our Quicksilver™ process is most useful when you’ve clearly defined your objectives, you’re pretty certain you know what the appropriate solution is, and you want a quality solution in place as quickly as possible. Our Goldmine process also stresses speed of delivery, but allows more room for a creative design up front. And our Platinum process is ideal for projects where the business objectives call for a solution that’s truly memorable and inspired.
Kickoff Meetings
Even our kickoff meetings are different! Depending on the nature of the project, we may conduct the kickoff meeting at your site (lucky you) or at ours, in Phoenix. For projects that require an especially stimulating environment, we may conduct the kickoff in an accessible but remote location such as the White Mountains of Arizona, or in Sedona.
Yes, we do virtual meetings too, but we believe strongly in the value of putting creative people together physically (at least occasionally), and especially at the inception of a project.
Instructional Design Process
If you want to know about our instructional design processes, well, you’re probably an instructional designer. If so, you have our sympathies! Many of us are instructional designers too. (Even our CEO.) And we recognize the burden you carry of being right nearly all the time in a world that all too often won’t listen. Oh, but we digress. We tend to be agnostic when it comes to issues of instructional design methodologies, pedagogies, and all that good stuff. We find that that’s usually situational. But that doesn’t mean we won’t enjoy a good spirited debate with you about content development standards, evaluation models or the merits of integrating learning and knowledge management.
All of the big words and eye-glazing tools and methods we describe go into creating the best e-learning solutions for your company - period. But we invite you to judge for yourself - take a look at our courses…
